This beer pours with a luscious, velvety texture. Deep notes of caramel, dark chocolate, and roasted hazelnut. The sweetness is pronounced but balanced by a subtle bitterness that lingers in the background. The beer’s thick, heavy nature makes it an ideal companion for sweet, decadent desserts, enhancing their flavours with each sip. As expected from a beer of this calibre, the mouthfeel is luxuriously thick and velvety, with a gentle carbonation that adds a soft effervescence to the experience.

18/7/2025. Can bought at Beers Of Europe, Kings Lynn. Pours black with a small creamy beige head. Aroma is nutty, chocolate, caramel, marathon bar, coffee, dark fruits. Quite sweet with moderate roasted bitterness and a slight tangy juicy fruit edge. Full bodied, smooth, average carbonation. Well done.

Can from Lidl, shared with my bro. It pours clear darkest brown to black with a medium fluffy beige head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, plenty of chocolate, chocolate cake, toasted nut, praline, ferrero rocher, vanilla, toasted marshmallow and rocky road. The taste is slick, oily, bitter - sweet, dark roasted malt, sticky, chocolate ice cream, toasted nut, praline, Nutella, ferrero rocher, vanilla, toasted marshmallow, rocky road, toasty, charred and some alcohol warmth. Medium body and average carbonation. Actually strikes quite a nice balance.

Can thanks to Irma. Appearance - deep brown to black with a thin beige head. Nose - burnt toffee, dark chocolate and syrup with hazelnuts lurking at the back. Taste - syrup, hazelnut, toffee and dark chocolate. Palate - medium bodied, a bit sickly, but a good one for the pastry stout lovers. Overall - ok.
