Pepra Saison is E.C. Dahls' interpretation of the classical Belgian farmhouse, subtly enhanced by the ancient herb hyssop and a fragrant kick of white pepper. Hyssop has been grown in Norway since living memory and has beautiful blue flowers, actually the same shade of blue as the label. The herb gives the beer an aromatic and lightly bitter taste that works together with the characteristic flavor of white pepper.

Personnally, it was not my best experience, the taste is really unbalanced, soily and mineral, astringent, generous notes of pepper, so-so, 11.05.2018, buying it at one coop in Lausanne or Prilly, drinking it at Haute-Nendaz.

Bottle at a tasting. Aroma showed a bit of oxidation, also a bit in taste, though a bit less. Moderate body, med-high carbonation. Moderate spiciness, peppery in finish. Light sweetness, soft candyish maltiness. Easy drinking, slightly spicy warming. Quite good.

0,33l bottle at home courtesy of Cunningham, big thanks. BB 18.03.2019. orange murky color, small white head. smells earthy, spices, heavy black peppery, herbal, tobacco, nice smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of ginger, coriander, spices, earthy, citric, bit peppery, bit soapy, ligt peach, bit yeasty. finishes lightly dry with notes of coriander, spices and peppery notes. pretty decent one, a bit heavy on the peppery. could use a bit more carbonation to make it a bit more intersting, but overall quite drinkable.

33cl bottle from Heinemann, BGO. Pours clear golden with a small, white head. Fruity and slightly spicy with ripe banana, Belgian yeast and some slightly floral, peppery notes. Medium sweet with fairly low flavour intensity and a light acidity. Drinkable and forgettable, but fair enough.

bottiglia 33 cl, schiuma bianca fine media persistenza, color giallo velato, al naso lieviti frutta matura spezie, in bocca è molto speziata pepe malto e frutta gialla, corpo leggero, lieve acidula, carbonazione forte, amaro deciso, secca nel finale. A me è piaciuta. Buona 07.04.18
