Pepra Saison is E.C. Dahls' interpretation of the classical Belgian farmhouse, subtly enhanced by the ancient herb hyssop and a fragrant kick of white pepper. Hyssop has been grown in Norway since living memory and has beautiful blue flowers, actually the same shade of blue as the label. The herb gives the beer an aromatic and lightly bitter taste that works together with the characteristic flavor of white pepper.

Golden colour, white head. Banana and pepper in the nose. Light-bodied. Light banana, spiceyness in the flavour. Saisony but quite watery and easy for this ABV.

0.33l bottle from coop near zurich train station. brewed with hyssop and white pepper. pours a hazy pale golden with a medium head. aroma of bread, black pepper, some caramel malts. flavour of bread and black pepper again, along with some yeast, dried apricots, herbs, citrus. chalky mouthfeel. quite dry, slightly bitter. nice.

Clear light orange beer, small creamy white head, bit adhesive. Aroma: funky, weird, fishy, peppery, more fruity notes on warming up. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sweet, spicy touch, soft bitterness, yeast, malty, unpleasant flavours. Aftertaste: bit sweet, soft bitterness, yeast, peppery. Meh.

Draught at KØ17. Lemony aroma. Hazy yellow colour. Good creamy stable white head. The flavour starts of mild and chalky. Turns a little yeasty and finishes with a mild note of fresh black pepper. Could use more flavour, IMO.

[ As Dahls Pepra Saison ].Clear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, moderate yeasty, saison yeast, pepper - black pepper. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, saison yeast, wheat, pepper notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20170519] 6-3-6-3-11
