Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from cork & Cask online. Pours clear cola brown with a small, foamy khaki head. Light sweet flavour with notes of toasted malts, brown bread, whole grains, a little earth and leaves. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, some dried fruits, nips of cocoa, ash, earth. Well rounded and very drinkable.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - pretty much black but with an orange chink at the bottom of the glass. Beige suds on the top. Nose - toffee, light liquorice edge with maybe even a hint of blackberry fruit. Some nuts and dried fruit lurking. Taste - raisins going into chocolate. Tangy treacle and hazelnuts lurking again. Palate - creamy, sweet and tangy. Some dry tangy-ness on the finish. Overall - enjoyable.

Cloudy brown beer, thick light tan head. Light nutty aroma. Flavour is nutty, malty, a little brown sugar. Very decent mild.
