Can at home, from Brew Cavern online, 16/01/22. Deep black with a good sized tan covering that dissipates some but retains. Nose is dark malts, mellow roast, molasses, toffee, dates, modest barrel note, brown sugar melt, treacle toffee, figs. Taste comprises fruit cake, toffee, chocolate, vanilla, mellow cognac kiss, dried fruits, light spice, molasses, brown sugar melt. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Decent easy drinking impy stout ... carries a little barrel ... would prefer more but a well balanced number and never runs too sweet.
