Can from Cork & Cask. Hazy ruby body with a thin beige head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of toffee, burnt sugar and fruit cake. Flavour of caramel, red berries and Worcestershire sauce. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. This is excellent. It’s sweet and rich - like a supercharged Heavy. Cross Borders brew these dark, malty beers very well. For me, this is their best beer yet.

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep amber with bright and amber chinks. Off white creamy head. Nose - red berries, light caramel and fruit cake. Taste - glace cherry, redcurrants and sweet spice. General feeling of fruit cake. Palate - medium bodied, creamy texture. Creamy rich but elegant finish. Overall - lovely beer. Complex yet very drinkable.
