Cask at Standing Order, Derby. Pours “bitter brown” with a small off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is musty and bready. In the mouth it is sweet and light with traditional hops, plus oranges, bread rolls and a hint of ginger. Finish is slightly dry and bitter. It’s OK, but rather nondescript.

Handpull cask from the Kings Head, Leicester. Light brown, very translucent. A thin foamy head on top and lots of lacing. Not much smell, some toffee malt tempered with grassy, medicinal notes. Interesting taste: quite bitter after an initial sweetness, with a astringency in the finish that's just a touch too heavy. Not overly exciting but decent.
