The World's first automatic emergency telephone service opened up on June 28th 1937, using the easily recognised number, 999.
The first ever call came in at 4:20 a.m. on July 1st, when Mr. Stanley Beard of Hampstead, spotted a leg disappearing though one of his downstairs windows.
999 was dialed and a police patrol car raced to the spot to arrest burglar Thomas Duffy four minutes later.
Today 2000 staff deal with 14,000 calls a day at a cost of £98 million. Hops used are Beata & Challenger. Special July 2015.

Cask (gravity) @ Fat Cat Brewery Tap, 98-100 Lawson Road, Norwich, Norfolk, England NR3 4LF. [ As Burton Bridge Dawn Patrol ].Clear medium yellow - amber orange colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, apple - sweet apple. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, sweet malt, apple, sweet apple, caramel, pale malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. [20150804] 5-3-5-2-10
