Cask at GBBF'23, day one, 01/08/23. Black with a khaki cap that retains well. Nose is chocolate, dried red berries, brown bread, mellow roast. Taste comprises brown bread, charr, cocoa sprinkle, red berry pips, light roast. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close. Not bad.

Cask in KEGS. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, modest fine carbonation. A little dark chocolate in the mellifluous dark malts. Nice blackberry and plenty of it, fruity and never acidic. Light finish. One of the better fruit stouts I can recall.

Cask at the 2018 Chelmsford & Mid Essex Beer & Cider Festival. Pours dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of blackberry, chocolate and light roasted malt. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slight watery texture, average to soft carbonation.

Cask @ Chelmsford Beer & Cider Festival. Almost black with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and blackberries. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 150218

Cask @ Chelmsford Beer Festival. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Arom and taste are berries, fruits, roast malt, licorice and hops. Nice bitter finish.
