750 ml waxed bottle, from Vinmonopolet Sandnes Kvadrat. ABV is 14.9%. Pitch black colour, small brown head. Boozy aroma of dark malts, rye whiskey, molasses, oak, chocolate and vanilla. Warming mouthfeel, as expected. Boozy and medium sweet flavour too, with the same elements as the aroma, also distinct bittering hops. Impressive beer, but hardly worth the high price.

Bottle, 75cl waxed. A close to black one, with a dense, small beige head. The aroma has roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate and a pleasant booziness. Some toffee and brown sugar. It’s full-bodied and warming, a bit heavily carbonated and with a good blend of sweetness and bitterness. Roasted malts, dark chocolate and coffee, some burnt notes and a touch of toffee in the flavor. Booze and a spiced, oaked hint. Lasting finish. Nice indeed. 241130

Bottle.Pitch Black colour with small beige head.Aroma is sweet warming and smooth with flavour of barrel and whisky nice rice mouth feels and good full body heavy and we'll balanced finish.

Nice light brown fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head, deep dark pour. Aroma is slightly sweet and dry boozy, dark malts, dark sugar, oak, old rope, whiskey, chocolate pudding, fruit stones, tobacco, dried dark fruits. Taste is sweet sour-ish boozy, dark sugar, old rope, whiskey, dark malts, tobacco, raw licorice, burnt toast, spices, oak, dried dark fruits. Medium to longlasting bitterness, sweet boozy mouthfeel. Nice.

Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate. Excellent.

75cl bottle. Purchased from kihoskh. You'll need tools and an advanced degree in dewaxing to open this mfcker. pours black with a dark brown, almost grayish smooth head that does fizzle a bit though. Old-school BA imp stout aroma where roasted malts and barrel are the center of action. tiny bit boozy, rye, wood, aroma hints of alcohol. Flavor is roasted malty, woody, glue or clay or dough, probably from being a few months too long in the barrels, it got some gluey funk there.. there is some nice bitterness from hops, but the malts and the barrel totally overpowers any hops so hoppy bitterness cannot be tasted by itself. quite bitter into the aftertaste, mostly roasted malty bitterness plus perhaps bit of alcohol. Really nice once in a rare while to get a strong imp stout that is not pastry but drives its taste from the fermentation and brewing process and the barrel, not adjuncts. The long time barrelling has really added flavors to the brew, some of them , i think, more funky than great, however, the beer sure is an interesting sipper and each sip is better than the prior one.
