Review based on the BJCP guidelines (style 26D). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 890/891 (BB: 01/2026). AROMA: medium-high peppery alcohol notes, followed by medium-low malt (caramel) and low ester background (candied pears). low metallic background note. APPEARANCE: amber to coppery body and clear. low beige head with low retention. lace formation. TASTE: initial medium-high alcohol note (rose-like, almost solventy), followed by medium-low caramel malt, slight peppery phenols and low candied pear. medium bitterness, balancing the malt sweetness. finishes semi-dry to dry. MOUTHFEEL: medium-high body with low carbonation. OVERALL: an average belgian strong ale.

Tap @ Fugacidade, Funchal, Madeira. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich caramel, candy sugar, dried fruits, malt and hops. Warming finish.
