Bottle from Purely Cornish. Appearance - dark brown to black with orange chinks. Off white head. Nose - creamy milk chocolate, caramel and light roast. Taste - Caramel bar plus smoky and liquorice edge. Palate - creamy and medium bodied, balanced and nice taper through the roasty finish. Overall - not that impressed with their pale beers, but good use of malts, here.

GBBF Day 2. Cask. Almost clear amber brown beer, decent tan head. Smooth and softish palate, mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft dark malts, a little coffee and cream and a pleasingly light tang. Modest dark fruits. Mild bitterness on the finish. Slightly flat but tasty.
