Reddish amber colour, one inch of ecru head; aroma of rye bready, toffee, some fruity and floral notes; taste is similar to the aroma with some syrupy notes; good one

33 cl bottle from HopSin brewpub, Colares. A hazy brownish red pour with virtually no head. Aroma is burnt scents, the likes of caramel or dark chocolate, and red berries, the likes of strawberry or Morello cherry. And... that's pretty much it all. Sweetish onset, creamy and dull midpalate. This is lacking acidity, so it feels sort of heavy and clumsy. Finish is bitterer than Belgian dubbels (but Belgian dubbels tend to be bitterless, anyway). Hints of chicory in the rather long-lasting aftertaste.
