Pretty good milk stout, a bit more restrained than most H&A stouts, with an easygoing milk chocolate soul and a subtle but pervasive lactose sweetness. Slight notes of coffee cherries, anise, and a little dried fruit, with a back end that offers up a mild roasted malt vein and a gentle hop bitterness. Pours a thick brown-black with a beige head and modest lacing. Straight chocolate sauce on the nose. Mellow texture goes down easily. Not bad.
