Sample at the Rhinegeist Rare Beer Fest 10/28/2017. Slightly hazy orange color with a medium thick white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Stringy lacing. Aroma of yeast, fruit and tequila. Light-bodied with flavors of mildly funky yeast, oaky tequila, fruit and malt. The finish is citrus and tequila. Above average overall.

Label’s turned up to 10, beer’s turned up to, I don’t know, 6-ish? Mostly a grapefruit beer, with very subtle lacto notes and a mild tequila boost to the finish. Tart but not overly so, the sourness primarily coming across as carbonated grapefruit juice rather than anything Belgian-inspired. Clingy, yeasty finished touched with liquor, but overall the idea’s a lot better than the brew. Pours a pink-tinged gold with a fizzy head that disappears quickly. Grapefruit on the nose, with some tequila as well, more than shows up in the beer. Palate feels slack, not Belgian in the slightest. Eh.
