A malty sweet traditional brown ale which is balanced with the spice and bitterness of Bramling Cross, a great UK hop.

Pours a clear amber colour with a lasting small thick and creamy off-white head. The aroma is malty, toasted malt, light toffee and leafy hop notes. A moderately sweet and bitter taste, malty and leafy hop flavours with a lingering hoppy bitterness.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 5/09/2017 .Amber in colour, with a frothy, off-white, head. Aroma of red berries, caramel and hedgerow hops. Flavour had some more ripe fruit, digestive malts and a moderately bitter finish. A pleasant bitter.

On cask at the Guildford Arms. Appearance - deep amber to brown. Nicely proportioned head. Nose - mainly toffee. Taste - toffee again but with loads of barley flakes. Palate - close to medium bodied with a crunchy texture. The finish is dry and just inside being astringent. Overall - yeah challenging again, but worth the struggle.
