Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - raisins and toffee. Molasses and treacle sponge. Taste - rich treacle again. Raisins and molasses. Palate - medium bodied. Rich texture with a balanced dry finish. Overall - lovely beer.

ABV: 5.0%. Clear dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, roasted, dark malt, light vanilla. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, oat, dark malt, sweet malt, light chocolate - vanilla. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery and smooth, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask @ The Pub, Todmorden. Has this the week before finding the Maple edition and the Manchester Beer Festival and thought this version better in comparison. Dark creamy-bubbly off-white head and a chocolate heavy nose, with a crisper lesser chocolate roasted taste.

Tight creamy tan head stayed on a near black still body. Roasted, nutty & faint smoky aroma. Medium bodied, smooth to the fore with a well carbonated back & cloying aft. Dark chocolate, make, nut, roast, tobacco, berry & mild spice tastes with a pleasantly pepper finish. Loving it!
