12 ounce bottle from Brennan’s Brookfield. Dark brown, thin fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of chocolate, brownie batter, lactose. The taste is sweet chocolate and vanilla, roasted malt, lactose. Medium bodied, mild lingering roast. A touch overly sweet but not bad.

Opaque black beer, tidy tan head. Slightly soft palate, semi dry. Smooth dry powdery chocolate. slightly dark chocolate character. Lactose that is a little sour. Good fruit underneath - fig and raisin. Semi dry finish. Lots of flavour here but it’s somehow disjointed.

12oz bottle. Opaque brown black. Massive, steady, beige-tan head. Big chocolate milkshake aroma, very nice. A little warmer mouthfeel than I expected from the aroma, but the rich, chocolate syrup-like specialty malt tones even it out. Tastes like a brownie sundae spiked with alcohol. Burnt coffee, toffee tones. Rich caramel chocolate. The real question is..what is the ABV? Pretty good beer, worth a try certainly.
