One is a throwback. It's the first in a series of beers where we reference old hand-written batch notes from our nascent days of existence. Here we have Julius scaled directly from batch notes on May 29th, 2012, in what would be the first commercial batch of Julius. It's hard to say if this will be a pure throwback, since our choreographed dance of brewing, which is so important to the outcome of a beer, has evolved over time. At any rate, this should be a fun one to try!

473ml can. Less juicy, more malty and bitter than regular Julius nowadays. Still tasty with loads of pine and citrusy hops. --- Beer merged from original tick of One on 01 Jul 2022 at 23:53 - Score: 8. Original review text: Tuska Day One done. Pours a hazy orange from a can. Citrus and dank pot notes in the nose, similar flavor. Pretty good beer.

Canned on July 8, 2021. Can says ABV is 6.8%. Pours a hazy, copper gold, with mid-sized head. Aroma is tropical fruit and citrus, a touch of butterscotch. Flavor is tropical fruit and citrus, with some notes of grass/straw and a mid-level hoppy bitterness that continues through the finish. Soft mouthfeel.
