This classic, copper coloured bitter invites you in with its biscuity aroma. The flavour is just as you’d expect - malty and dry with a lovely bitter taste through and through.

Cask at Head of Steam, Birmingham. Clear amber, smooth white top, good lacing. It's malty, notes of biscuit, woody and earthy hops. Its well rounded with a nice balance, Smooth and easy to down with a decent bitterness.

Handpull cask at the Pig & Pump, Chesterfield. Mid-brown and clear with a lacing-inducing off-white head. Biscuity aroma, some woody notes and light turps. Tastes bittersweet with a nice oaky character. Light to medium ou body, soft to nil carbonation. Hmmm. I like a lot of these craftier bitters but something is missing with this one. Like someone explained a traditional bitter to an AI chatbot and they brewed this. I mean, it is decent enough but just feels like there is little soul.

Cask at the brewery. Poured a clear medium amber colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, yeast, light woody hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a smooth, herbal, earthy, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
