Fremont Brewing began as a dream in 2008. Years later, our dream has come true in each and every one of you, our craft beer family. And like every family, we have had our ups and our downs, but we keep coming back together knowing we are stronger together. In your hands is a special nod to you, a gift for now that will continue to give many years from now should you have the patience to wait…Brew 8000. This English-style barleywine ale uses floor-malted English barley, Noble hops, and is aged in 10-15 year-old, single use bourbon barrels for 16 months to bring you a complex and subtle craft beer flavor experience. We brewed this to celebrate brewing our 8000th brew, and we look forward to sharing it with you, our craft beer family. “Barleywine Ale Is Life.” – VWP
Down & Dirty: Maris Otter Pale and Carafa 2 Special malts with White Wheat and Magnum and US Goldings hops.

Dull darkish brown. No head. Soft, figgy, sticky dates and big bourbonic vanillins. Rich sugars, basically no carbo. Solid, doesn’t come across as special in the context of the Fremont oeuvre but still very good.

22 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is full of big bourbon barrels, burnt brown sugar, and toasted caramely bready malt. Flavour is rich, with big brown sugar, caramel malt, dark dried fruits, and huge bourbon barrels. Wonderful deep maltiness and dark fruitiness on the finish. Excellent.

Nice malt backbone, sweet, some dark fruits, American oak, and some hops. Taste is pretty sweet, very smooth, lots of creamy notes from the oak, some vanilla, a lot of caramel. Very nice!

Malty, slightly sweetish and fruity with some earthiness, barrel notes, toffee, raisins, figs, caramel and syrup. Smooth and balanced, but not super complex.

Sweet, smooth, toffee and raisins. Flavor is ok but really faint, almost watery compared to the previous versions. Shame.

Bottle thanks to Chow. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is dark fruit and wood. Slick body, licorice, raisin, wood, boozy, very nice.
