Tuotteessa käytetty savukaura savustettiin itse oman pellon kaurasta.

(Keg at Hilpeä Hauki, 20160919) The beer poured mahogany coloured and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had caramel, malts and molasses. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were molasses, toasted malts, sweetness, grass, treacle and bitterness. Aftertaste was toasty and bitter. Altogether this was a good malty brew with nice drinkability.

Draft at Porvoon Paahtimo. Dark brown with a big tan head. Mostly metallic smell at first which mellows into coffee and liquorice with a hint of oatmeal and woodsmoke... something’s not quite right. The taste is pretty damn glorious though. Sweet and malty with a bitter chocolate note and lots of sweet oat. The finish brings a hint of that regrettable metallic note again. If not for that it’d be a damn good drop. As it is, it’s a cautious thumbs up. As I drink the metal notes dissipate a bit, leaving a far more drinkable ale.
