This series of single-hop beers aims to showcase the unique character of some of our favourite hop varieties. The seventh instalment of this series showcases Chinook.
Chinook hops are incredibly popular in modern day brewing, they produce resinous pine aromas, combined with bright grapefruit flavours and a clean bitterness for finish.

Can. Hazy pale gold with nice lasting white head. Aroma of pineapple, lemon rind, pine and light funk. The fruitiness is more subdued in the flavour where pine sap and floral notes are more pronounced but there is some lemon and grapefruit rind. Drying and sappy bitter finish. Medium bodied, fine carbonation. One of those beers that grew on me over time.

440ml can from Asda. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a short-lived, frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, tropical citrus. The flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, with a fresh, somewhat light, smooth, juicy mango citrus, light piney hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Can from Asda Supermarket, Manchester. Hazy golden with a frothy-bubbly head. Hoppy and tropical fruity in perhaps equal measure, with mild citrus-exotic notes.
