This is not your average boring brown beer - we don?t do boring. Contemplation is an American Brown Ale packed with English and German speciality malts, giving a rich caramel and nutty backbone. On top of this, Mosaic, Chinook and Columbus hops from the US add flavours of dark berries and citrus, amalgamating into a complex marriage of malt and hops which demands relaxed contemplation.

High Wycombe House Warming. Thanks to James. Almost clear amber beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, decent carbonation. Light and dry malts, trace of caramel. Good floralness into a little tangy orange peel. Light finish. Not very brown but okay.

Bottle at The High WyCum tasting, Chez Bois, thanks to JF 05/11/16. Hazed orange amber with a decent light beige cap. Nose is tangy orange, spice, bread, straw. Taste comprises mineral tones, orange pith, straw, light bread, funky melon. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Ok.

Bottle at home, 26/07/16. Bought from Hogs Back Brewery. Sweet coffee, nuts, something verging on herbal. Looks like a pint of cola. Russet and opaque. The cola looks are furthered by the initia frothy beige head soon retreating in to a thin crescent shape. Medium bitter, with dark choolate and mocha. Extremely smooth - a combination of the light body and carbonation. That mocha remains as an after taste around the back of gums. A light and airy brown ale. Not overly complex but refreshing.

500ml Bottle - Brown in colour. Hazlenut, cocoa and toffee in the aroma. Cocoa, nuts, toffee and some hoppy and faintly soapy notes in the taste. Nice but from the description I was expecting more of a hop presence.
