On tap right now at FSRB. Deep brown, with the only light coming through the punt at the bottom of the goblet. This was poured from a newly tapped barrel, so a thick foam quickly ebbed to a thin top layer. More heady smelling than the previous Killer Wood offering. Still a touch of tartness in the nose. Taste is thick and chewy. A little sweet and tart fruit, like a German white wine. Add to that the expected brandy, vanilla and oak notes, plus some alcohol warmth, and it’s quite the winter beer. A bit of phenolic band-aid pops in midway through, but that’s a risk with high gravity.
