Pour is a dark amber with a small white head. Aroma is some sweet malts with a bit of yeast. Flavor is sweet malts with no real hops. Finish is almost flavorless. They really like to make thier beers on the sweet side here.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark amber color with a thin beige head that recedes steadily. Thin patches of lacing. Toasted malt, caramel and hops in the nose. Light-to-medium-bodied and sweet with flavors of caramel and malt, as well as some mild hops. The finish is short and sweet with just a little malt left over. Barely average overall.

Hand-pulled draft sampler, 4 Aug. 07. Nice bands of gold and brown in ths narrow glass. Crystal malt smell. A light ring of foam. As a cask beer, this is thin in mouthfeel, but makes up by being robust and malty. Good English hop balance leads to a clean finish.

On tap at Flat Branch. This was listed as "Irish Red Ale" but I assume it is the same beer. Red-brown body topped by a thin creamy off-white head. Lightly fruity aroma. Flavor was mostly light biscuit and very light musty fruit with a cardboardy twang. Creamy soft carbonation. A weak stab at the style.
