From old tasting notes. Hazy, copper colored brew with a sturdy beige head. Herbal hops compliment a pleasant toasted malt nose. Notes of pine and peat lead to a big smoky malt flavor. Reminiscent of aged imported provolone (with a little imagination). Complex, full bodied and hearty. Finishes long and smoky sweet. Very good.

Bottled. Barleywine brown, and pretty close to a young barleywine in taste. There is some oxidation to the particular bottle I had. But then some nice sherry, caramel and toffee flavors come in to make it all better.
