Brewed with the addition of local Samphire, an edible seaweed that grows on the Norfolk marshes. A local delicacy!

27/4/2019. Bottle from the Real Ale Shop, Wells. Pours very dark brown with a large off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, liquorice, toffee, molasses, fruit cake and a herbal edge. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, above average carbonation. Very nice aroma but went downhill a bit from there.

[500ml bottle from Samphire, Blickling Hall, Norfolk] Pours brown - completely lifeless with no head. Gorgeous chocolate aroma. Salty overcooked cabbage in the flavour - presumably from the samphire. Some tar and cough mixture, but the chocolate just about wins through. Unusual, and could be good, but agree with previous comments about poor condition.
