A well-known and respectable local building firm, the Crumbleholme’s family have been living in Dorset since 1840’s but we traced their ancestry back to Northern Lancashire ,a place renowned for its coalfields and part in the industrial revolution . In memory of the Crumbleholmes that would have appeared home at tea time with black faces.straight from the coalfields ,we have named our ’black stout’in their honour.

Keg at Brewhouse & Kitchen Dorchester. Black with an off-white head. Mild roastiness, black coffee, a light toasty malt and a touch of liquorice. Ok.

14/7/2019. Keg at the Brewhouse & Kitchen (Dorchester). Pours dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, coffee, liquorice and dark. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, average to soft carbonation.

Keg @ the brewpub. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, licorice, coffee, chocolate and has a nice roasty bitter finish.
