Bottle from Low Sizergh Barn Farm Shop, Cumbria. Exploded out of the bottle; lost about a quarter of it. What was left was a pale gold colour with a little fine sediment. It looked aggressively fizzy but was only moderately so in the mouth (admittedly more fizzy than I like, but this does seem to be the fashion in ciders of late). I struggle for descriptors of cider flavours, but this was light and refreshing with fresh apple juice, a nice touch of tannic apple skins, and a hint of summer meadows. It was just on the dry side of medium by today's standards (which suits me!), although it was maybe a tad thin. With the fizziness and the lower ABV (compared to their other ciders), I wonder if they're targeting the pub market with this one? If so it's a sight better than most of the other pub-strength ciders out there. I rather enjoyed it actually.
