Bottle from Cornelius. It pours cloudy deep red with a thick yellow-white head. The aroma is rich, malt - driven, toast, cereal, red fruit, berry, some jam, orange peel, spice, salty edge and banana. The taste is bitter, earthy, spicy, wood, leather, orange peel, vinous, grape skin, cranberry, jam, marmalade, hint of banana and some alcohol with a dry finish. Medium + body and moderate carbonation. Has a great depth of flavour to it. Rich and challenging. A joy to drink.

500ml bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear chestnut, thin off-white head. Nutty aromas, marmalade, almonds. Taste is more sweet marmalade, almonds, light spice, honey. We’ve talked about this and the Stout more than any other beers today - Luckie’s beers always make you think.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - a beautiful deep amber or lava colour. A big lively head but it disappears very quickly. Shame as it would’ve been a 5. Nose - tangy orange and a hint of dry red fruit. Almonds. Taste - more tangy orange not quite as shreddy as marmalade. Palate - medium bodied with a big tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - complex, tasty and interesting.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Ruby body with a thin off-white head. Lively carbonation. Very faint lacing. Aroma of cider, syrup, apple, yeast and cranberry. Flavour of caramel, toffee apple, tangy red fruits and earth. Medium body with a frothy texture. Lively fizz. Reminiscent of Orval - never a bad thing. Sweet and easy drinking. A great beer that would probably age well.
