Cask at Cloisters. It pours clear deep amber with a medium white head. The nose is toasty, soft sweet caramel, brown bread, toasted grain and earth. The taste is bitter, brown bread, toasty, grain, wood, touch of citrus and light caramel with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Smooth and balanced. Not an IPA for sure, but a solid bitter anyhow.

Cask at Cloisters Scottish Beer Festival. Pours clear amber, thin off-white head. Aromas of the dust from a packet of hop pellets, light resin, light citrus. Taste is light sweet, no significant bitterness. Medium body, thin finish. OK.
