Bottle. Pours a deep ruby red with a small head. Aroma is sweet, grainy, lots of caramel. True scotch ale character. Medium body. Flavour is malty, lots of caramel malt and rather sweet. Taste in-between a scotch ale and a doppelbock, a bit peculiar but not bad.

Bottled. A hazy brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, bread, and caramel. The flavor is sweet malt, with notes of malt, caramel, and bread, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle from Buca Di Bacco, consumed on a bench on the Positano beach. An unfortunate portion spilled on my pants. Pours an unclear, brown color, with a big, foamy, beige head. The aroma is hay, wheat bread, apple, and cardamom. Sweet and yeasty, with a sharp bitterness. Light to medium body, with a frothy, lightly astringent palate. This is a pretty solid beer.
