A little secret here - this was originally our first Christmas beer. However, following lots of positive feedback, this rich and warming porter has been renamed and retained as a full time offering. It has a lovely roast malt flavour throughout with a subtle hint of spice.

Cask at GBBF Winter: Poured a brown with no head. Aroma is sweet malts and cinnamon. Taste is fruit cake and sweet malts.

Third by cask at GBBF Winter, Astbury Bar. Shared with Finn. Decent beige head over a jet black body. Fragile lacing. Moderate spiced dark malty aromas. Chocolate malts with cinnamon and pepper. Ends dry and spicy, slightly roasted. Accepted. (Birmingham 04.02.2020).

Cask @ GBBF Winter, Birmingham. Black with a tiny beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and spicy. Flavor is quite sweet. Sweet finish. 080220

8/2/2020. From cask at the Great British Winter Beer Festival, Birmingham. Pours very dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of light chocolate, roasted malt, biscuit, cardamom and cinnamon. Medium sweetness and light to moderate bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Nice biscuit finish. Pretty good.

Cask @ GBBF, Birmingham. Small head with short duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are herbs, spices, roast malt, chocolate and hops. Herbal bitter finish.

Cask (gravity) @ NBF 2015 [ The 40th. Nottingham Beer Festival (The 8th Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival) ], Nottingham Castle, Friar Lane, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England NG1 6EB. [ As Weal Ales Weal Noir ].Clear dark brown color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, dark malt, candy, spicy. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, spicy, caramel, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20151008] 6-3-6-3-12
