Hand-pulled half-pint in the Butler's Bell on 1st August 2026. Light golden body almost clear pour, white roof. Pleasant enough without being memorable or different. Slight fruitiness alongside some malt action.

Cask at Bulls Head, Birmingham. Clear gold with nice small creamy looking head. Aroma and taste is biscuity and light fruitiness. Very standard but pleasant. Nice bitterness running through, smooth.

Cask at Butlers Bell, Stafford. Pours golden yellow with a small off-white head and good lacing. Not much of an aroma – just vague hints of floral hops. In the mouth it fluctuates between sweet and bitter – but not much in either direction. Flavour has hops, grains and ginger plus hints of spice and citrus. Finish is quite bitter. Very highly carbonated – I’m wondering if it was a keg beer served through a hand pump ? Whatever, it’s OK.
