Bottle from the brewery. Rich coffee and liquorice aroma. Some butterscotch. Dark and glossy. The beige head is just a ring around the rim. Medium bitter. The taste brings through the coffee (espresso - no milk or sugar) and liquorice from the aroma. Bitterness peaks into the finish. Light and thin, especially for the style. Fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. I did so wonder if this would be overly sweet/lactose but it's not. Packs a punch. Just let down by the body and texture.
