Cask gravity at the St Albans BEER festival 2017. A hazed reddy mahogany brown coloured pour with a loose light tan head. Aroma is woody pine, brown sugars, liquorice, resinous. Flavour is composed of semi sweet rounded brown malts, liquorice, woody pine, oak. Palate is semi sweet, sticky hop, decent cask condition.. Decent cask black ipa.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Chums, Bristol 23/9/2017. Dark brown in colour, with a slight, white, head. Red berries and a touch of orange peel, leafy hops, some bready malts and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask at the Bootlegger, 15/09/17. Light black with a thin tan head that didn't stay for long. Nose is earthy fruit rinds, light roast, charr, cocoa sprinkle. Taste comprises light dusty hops, hint of pine, red berry linger, chocolate. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Sub par for style ... didn't pull out of second gear.

Cask at Pow, Farnborough. Nil aroma. Some mushed fruit? Cola brown. Thin bubbly beige head. Medium bitter but the core to it is a sweet caramel. Light bodied. Thin. Flat carb. Long sweet finish. Didn't realise this was a Black IPA, thought it was a mild or sweet porter. Drinkable but fails style wise.
