Chelmsford Winter Beer Fest at KEGS. Cask. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth, mildly dry and has decent fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, smooth and dry. Mild roast bitterness under dark chocolate. Touch of vanilla. Tangy dark fruits. Light semi dry and slightly bitter finish. Tasty enough, plenty going on.

Not a patch on their golden ales. Was let down by this one.

Tried at the Nottingham beer festival 2015. Black colour with a tan head. Aroma roasted malt, fruit and vanilla. Taste has a nice vanilla hit too.
