Pint at GRAF. Impenetrable black with a creamy tan head. Sweet creamy aroma with a heavy dose of hop fruit. Taste is initially sweet with a bitter fruity finish. Good

Keg @ Hanging Bat, Edinburgh [240813]
Black, thin ruby edges, thin tan head, some lacing
Aroma of dark caramel malts, soft roast, dab of brown bread, slight fruity zest underneath
Taste of dark caramel malts, mellow roast, touch of dark fruits, hint of herbal hop, bit spicy, some zesty hop in there, quite a hoppy stout crossing a bit into black IPA territory, maybe fruity coffee, not sure of the overall flavour though
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, smooth texture. Palate a bit unbalanced. Finish as main flavour, dry, fairly bitter fruity burnt roast, bit too dry

Cask at the Birmingham Beer Bash 2013. Poured a deep mahogany with a thin broken tan head. The aroma is of fudge and caramel leading to a medium bitter flavour, with a smooth creamy palate with roasted malt and a little barnyard, not to mention a little bit of hoppy spice too. This beer really is packed with flavour.

Cask @ The Mark Addy. Heavy textured stout that is light in its roasted malts. Black with a small head.

Good amount of a half pint, gravicask at Chorlton Beer Fest, shared with Elisabeth and Stefan. Bubbly, beige head over a deep, jet black body. Smell of sweet, earthy malts. Dark mid-sweet malts with a note of cocoa offset by dark bitter malts. Bittersweet end. Well balanced. Likable, 06.07.2012.
