Taster pour on tap at Tapped, Maplewood. Appearance is dark brown (like cola or maple syrup) with no discernible sparkle, finger-width creamy beige/light brown head. Aroma is nutty, earthy, milder roasted malt. Taste is earthy malts, little bit of cocoa, nuts. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, thin texture, soft carbonation and dry, crisp finish as taste. Overall, quite good with decent complexity.

Pour is a dark cola brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a decent char malt but not much beyond that. Flavor is a more intense roasted char malt with some chalky bitterness. The mouthfeel of this beer is a lot thicker than it looks. An above par porter with lots of roasted malt flavor.
