Bottle thanks to Eric. Pours a dark brown with small tan head. The aroma is strong raisin, leather, wood, bourbon. Slick body, dark fruit, leather, oak, boozy, nice sweetness, enjoyed this.

Murky, dull amber-brown. Well, it looks like bw but not good. That's normal. Aroma is sticky, the palate lets more out. Vanilla, sticky malts, a bit of sticky toffee pudding. It comes across like any decent barley wine, with rich malts, intense dessert notes, and a boozy, barrely finish. Not as refined as, say, Falcon & the Falconer, which I had a few days ago. But still a solid bw, in the burly American style.

Bottle shared by Greg, thanks! Pours a near clear earthy brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges quickly. Aroma has a great barrel and sweet grain combination with a bit of caramel underlying. Flavor has sweet bread, barrel and sweet grains with caramel and toffee through the finish.

On tap at Gourmet Haus as part of SF Beer Week. Thanks to Chris for telling me to get this at noon on a Saturday.....a big beer at that time but so happy that I tried it! Bit and boozy, with massive complexity all around. Barrel, vanilla, anise, and dark fruit. Boozy but didn't seem like 17%. Great beer!
