Session strength pale brewed to showcase the great American hop – Amarillo. Amber malt is added to the mash to give an extra dimension and a biscuit base, then the zesty orange and pithy bitterness from the Amarillo takes you for a ride.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 5/8/2013. Golden with a slight white head. Big grapefruit notes, some pineapple and crisp malts, before a dryish finish. Very good.

Cask at York Tap. Golden amber colour, foam white head leaving lots of lacing and aroma of floral citrus hop. Taste is malt caramel with floral grapefruit citrus and hoppy bitterness. Light bodied, medium carbonation, dry bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Cask at Old Mill, Brodie [060713]
Amber, slight haze, dense white head, somee lacing
Aroma of soft tropical fruits, soft pale fruit malt
Taste of soft earthy hops, biter quite grassy hop, slight nuttiness(?), zesty on sides of tongue, not sure about the hop flavour in this, fairly sweet pale malt background
Palate - Light, thin body, but a little oiliness. Finish of biter grassy hop, quite dry finish, bitter linger
Overall - It was too warm from cask which didn’t help. I wasn’t over keen on the hop flavour, little rough and earthy. Would like to try on keg but it’s my least favourite of the Cromarty beers so far

Keg at Brewdog AGM. Didn’t touch the sides! Easy drinking session beer, perhaps a little light-bodied and watery.

Draft. It pours hazy orange-amber with a medium white head. The nose is full of fresh tropical fruit and citrus....orange, tangerine, mango, lemon and grapefruit. The taste is clean, orange, tangerine, mango, grapefruit, bold bitterness and underlying sweetness with a dry, bitter finish. Light to medium body and fine carbonation. Brilliant flavour given the percentage, with plenty of bright citrus fruit. Delicious and very drinkable. Great stuff!

Keg at BrewDog Shoreditch - London. Pours clear good with a tight, creamy white head. Aroma carries some bright grapefruit, tangerine and lemon. Light sweet flavor with plenty of dry, lightly pithy citrusy hops, mellow bitterness, mild pale malt sugars. Light bodied with average to lively carbonation. Clean finish with more dry grapefruit, very light sweetness. Easy drinking but not super characterful.

Taste: Sharp citrus burst of sherbet grapefruit. Slightly woody. This is really hoppy and flavoursome.
Palate: Thin to medium body with a watery mouthfeel. Nice carbonation fizz.
Overall: A delicious beer - and only 3.5% ABV. Well done, Cromarty.
