473ml can. Jet black colour with huge, tan head sporting at least two sediment layers, a slowly shrinking, creamy, dense, darker tan base layer, and a brighter, more frothy, slightly brighter, almost dark beige, slowly osteoporosing, moderately lacing top layer. Roasty, dark malty and dank, resinous, piney, minimally herbal, hoppy aroma, hints of coffee, liquorice, a touch of menthol, scallion, salmiak. Taste is bitter, roasty, dark malty, slightly caramel malty with low residual sweetness, mildly bitter hoppy as well, notes of coffee, some dark caramel, hints of scallion, a touch of liquorice.
Creamy texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy, simultaneously minimally dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation.
Well crafted, harmonious and very homogeneous - good.

Can, at Matt's
Dark chestnut colour near black. Dry, sharply toasty, and boldly bitter, a bit earthy in the finish.
Good.

16oz can. Pours very deep brown with beige head. Aroma has some rye and a bit of chocolate. Flavour has some nice rye malts and bitterness from the hops. Nice black rye IPA.

Dark brown. Thin head. Great nose for the style, big chocolate and pine notes, the hop being particularly bright. On the palate, hops not as bright, it's good though. There's decent bitterness, and it's got a thinnish chocolate to it. Hops show a touch of pine, with a mellow bit of citrus in the finish. Very good.

473mL can, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma is robust, with big roasted malt, some spicy rye, and a nice earthy hoppiness. Flavour has plenty of roasted malt, lots of spiciness, and earthy hops. Dry, roasty, spicy, and almost a bit tart. Good stuff.

Can from Beerdome. Almost black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt, rye and moderate hoppy - pine and citrus. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. The rye goes really well with the usual Black IPA features. 210324

16oz (thx, Chris S.!) shared @ Ryan's with Farees. Appearance: brown with a tan head. Aroma: a mix of the roasted malt and hops. Taste: along the same lines. Finishes with roasty and hoppy bitterness. Overall: ok.
