Cask at Exeter Arms, Derby Pours a ruby red with a small white head and good lacing. Has a strong malty nose, with a hint of sugary sweetness. It the mouth it is sweet, but with some sharpness on the edges. Taste of plums, malts and rasisins. A classic bitter finish to round things off. A good traditional strong bitter. I really like it – perhaps my favourite Dancing Duck beer.

Cask @ NWAF ’14, Derby. Copper coloured even though it advertises itself as a ruby ale. Lush smell of sugarcane and forest fruit. Taste is less exciting, but is refreshingly sweet with a bitter finish. Pretty darn good.
