Our first seasonal of 2024 has a sparkling hue and a crisp body. Mango, citrus and lime cascade over a hop filled palate whilst biscuit malt flavours descend into a long, lingering and refined finish.

Cask at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a hazy straw with a small off-white head and good lacing. Not much of an aroma – just traces of floral hops and citrus. In the mouth it starts off sweet with flavour of apples and tropical fruits. In then progressively becomes more bitter with first citrus and line followed by floral hops and oranges. Finish is decidedly bitter and slightly sticky. Not my kind of beer – though the lime did ameliorate the yuckiness !

(Cask at Angleterre, 20161022) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was small, dense, white and it lasted long. Aroma had fruitiness and grass. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A good hoppy golden ale.
