Dark, brooding and robust, all should bow their heads before the humble porter. Often misunderstood and misappropriated, the real porter is a thing of simple beauty. In its element, the sense of satisfaction you get form a full bodied, roasted coffee, malty chocolatey stout is unparalleled. Respect the elements.

Can. Dark brown with a cm of tan head that hangs around just a little while. Aroma is somewhat roasty with caramel, chocolate and hints of spices. A taste reveals some coffee too. Just medium bodied with chocolate and bread soon countered by light roast and firmish bitterness. Straightforward with clear flavours and nice balance.

33 cl achetée chez Saveur Bière. Jolie robe noire opaque, mousse et carbonatation quasi inexistantes. Bouche sur le fruit sucré, cerise, pointe d'agrumes, chocolat et rôti. Sympa mais vite écoeurante.

29/8/2020. Bottle from Beer52 as Tempest Elemental Dark Ale and shared at the Wroclaw GP bottle share. Pours dark brown with a small bubbly off-white to beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coconut, vanilla, oats. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, smooth texture though a little watery, average to soft carbonation.

Bottle: Almost black, smaller creamy tanned head, moderate sweet-bitter aroma of dark and toasted malt, caramel and traces of chocolate cake; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, nearly no acidity, medium bodied and very soft; lingering and smooth sweet-bitter finish of dark and toasty malt and some coffee. A very nice drop...

Pours a pitch black / very dark ruby with a small porous head. Not getting much on the nose but dark malts with a hint of chocolate. Dark malts on the palate, goes down very smooth and balanced. Not very hoppy, but a good drinkable Porter.

On tap at True North. It's close to black in the glass, with a dense dark beige head leaving lacing. Burnt and roasted malts dominates the aroma, with some oat and dark chocolate. It's dry and bitter on the palate, full-bodied and appropriately carbonated, with some dark chocolate flavor, but it's mostly roasted malts. Some burnt notes too. A straight forward, tasteful and quite easy drinkable porter. 171021

330ml bottle, as Elemental Dark Ale: BB 19th Sep 2020. Drank at home on 8th Oct 2019. Dark brown, no head worthy of the name. Malty enough but lacks depth of flavour and aroma for me. This is the third beer in a Dark Beer tasting I am having (with myself) and it's got some chocolate and coffee action but it's subtle rather than 'wow'. Actually it's growing on my as I sip it, slowly.
