Dark, brooding and robust, all should bow their heads before the humble porter. Often misunderstood and misappropriated, the real porter is a thing of simple beauty. In its element, the sense of satisfaction you get form a full bodied, roasted coffee, malty chocolatey stout is unparalleled. Respect the elements.

As Tempest Elemental Dark Ale. Bottle, 0.33l. Black pour, half finger soapy beige head, short lasting. Minimal lacing on the glass. Roasted malt on the nose, caramel, cocoa, fruity notes in the background. Thin body, medium carbonation. Fizzy, prickly mouthfeel, light texture. Roasty bittersweet taste. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, toffee, cocoa, forest fruits. A bit woody. Latte in the background. Short to medium finish, dry. Good stuff. A bit light bodied.

0.33 l bottle at Valhalla Viking Metal Craft Bar, Zagreb. Shared with Tonči Pliš. Dark brown, small off-white head. Metallic, malty, soapy, roasty. Flavour is beautifully dry roasty, dark chocolate, pure dark malts, roasted coffee. Very dry finish. Tart and almost bitter from the roasty elements. Light to a medium body.
