Dark, brooding and robust, all should bow their heads before the humble porter. Often misunderstood and misappropriated, the real porter is a thing of simple beauty. In its element, the sense of satisfaction you get form a full bodied, roasted coffee, malty chocolatey stout is unparalleled. Respect the elements.

Cask-conditioned at the Adam & Eve, Bristol 2/11/2015. Dark brown with a frothy, beige, head. Coffee notes, fruity hops, plenty of roasted malt character, some plain chocolate and a lingering, toasty finish. Enjoyable.

Bottled as Elemental Dark Ale at 5.1%, batch ED01 BB 04 Jun 2016, large sample. Dark brown cooor, medium frothy brown head. Aroma of fruity hops, bramble, bit citrus, blackcurrant, slight coffee and roast. Medium fruity and roasty bitterness, some citrus and pine. Sloght mocha sweetness. Wonderful stuff. Very fruity for a porter, almost towards black IPA, although bottle mentions just 35 IBU.
