5/7/2023. Can shared by Colin, cheers. Pours dark mahogany brown with a large frothy beige head. Aroma of maple syrup, chocolate, roasted malt, black treacle, hint of liquorice. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness. Medium body, gently fizzy carbonation.

440ml can from Squirrel, Amersham. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a short-lived, frothy light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt and chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, somewhat light, roasty, light sweet chocolate, light liqourice, light maple syrup palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap at mad Squirrel watford. An opaque black brown coloured pour with a halo of khaki head. Aroma is semi sweet brown sugars, spicy cake, maple sponge, little dusty. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty brown malts, brown sugars, golden sryup, hint of cinnamon. Not bad.

Can at home, from MS HW, 19/03/23. Light black with a bog old lasting khaki cap formed of frothy bubbles. Nose is chocolate, dark malts, brown sugar dusting, molasses, light spice, maple syrup. Taste comprises mellow roast, good maple syrup presence - balanced and not too sticky/sugary, dark malts, toffee, brown sugar dusting. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough stout ... fairly well balanced and not overly sweet.
