Be Rye and Lifted Up by this Black IPA, hopped with Cascade and Citra. A touch of rye in the grist adds a spicy complexity and deep grainy character to this gloriously hoppy beer.

26/2/2022. Can shared with the ITFC boys at the Morecambe tasting. From Beer Central, Sheffield. South Yorkshire rating #150.Pours clear dark bronze brown with a small frothy beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, hops, citrus, rye bread. Moderate sweetness, medium plus roasted bitterness. Medium body, oily mouthfeel, above average carbonation. Good, though would have liked less fizz.

Can. Beer Central, Sheffield. Light haze on a deep ruby red. Fine beige head is lasting and semi lacing. Nose has charcoal. Earthy coffee bean. Glimmer of hop. Taste is earthy and dry with a burnt malt bitterness. Some astringency on the palate. Lingering burnt bitterness to finish. Not very good really.
